Apache Xindice 1.1 released (9 May 2007)

The Apache Xindice team is pleased to announce the production release of the next version of the Xindice native XML database, Apache Xindice 1.1. This release contains many stability and correctness enhancement and is recommended over any previous Xindice release.

Xerces-J 2.9.0 released (22 November 2006)

Xerces-J 2.9.0 is now available from the Xerces-J site.

As of this release, Xerces and Xalan now share a common serialization codebase. The DOM Level 3 serialization support which was in Xerces was migrated into the Xalan serializer and Xerces' native serializer was deprecated. More information on changes can be found here.

XML Commons Resolver 1.2 released (22 November 2006)

This release adds support for OASIS XML Catalogs v1.1. See the changelog for details.

XML Commons External 1.3.04 released (22 November 2006)

This release adds Java Language Bindings for SAC 1.3 (The Simple API for CSS), SMIL and SVG 1.1 and contains several fixes and improvements to the JAXP 1.3 APIs. See the changelog for details.

XML::Xerces 2.7.0-0 released (14 March 2006)

XML::Xerces 2.7.0-0 is now available from the Xerces-P site.

The major change in this release (besides support for Xerces-C 2.7) is the elimination of the SAX/SAX2 related Unicode bugs. Xerces-P should now have 100% Unicode compliance.

Xerces-J 2.6.1 Now Available (February 2004)

Xerces-J 2.6.1 is now available from the Xerces-J site.

Changes include :

  • Added support for XML Catalogs.
  • Implemented some remaining XML Schema errata and fixed several schema related bugs.
  • Fixed various DOM Level 3 bugs.
  • Implemented well-formedness checking for LSSerializer (DOM Level 3).
  • Modified the XJavac task used by the build file so that Xerces can be built on Mac OS X with Apple JDK 1.4.
  • Fixed possible security hole: the features and properties set on the parser were not propagated to the XMLSchemaLoader.
  • Implemented the latest XInclude draft, excluding support for XPointer.
  • Implemented missing support for supplemental characters in XML 1.1 names.
  • Implemented various performance improvements.
  • Fixed various bugs.

Xalan-C++ Version 1.7 Released (January 2004)

Xalan-C++ 1.7 is now officially available from the Xalan-C++ site.

Changes include :

  • Message localisation support
  • Build improvements
  • New EXSLT functions

Xerces-C++ 2.4 released (December 2004)

Xerces-C++ Version 2.4 has now been released, and is available from the Xerces-C++ site.

Xalan Java 2.5.2 released (October 31, 2003)

The Xalan team is pleased to announce the availability of Xalan Java 2.5.2.

Xalan Java provides XSLT processors for transforming XML documents into HTML, text, or other XML document types. The Xalan Java Interpretive processor and the Xalan Java Compiling processor implement XSL Transformations (XSLT) Version 1.0, XML Path Language (XPath) Version 1.0, and Java API for XML Programming (JAXP) Version 1.2.

Resolver 1.1b1 (beta) released (October 7, 2003)

Beta release with some new functionality and updated documentation to match Forrestized website. Expect a 1.1 release in time for the next Ant release, which bundles Resolver. See the changelog for details.

Forrest 0.5.1 released (October 6, 2003)

Bugfix release using Cocoon 2.1.2, which fixes a bug where some pages (most noticeably, the last image on the default skin) to not be rendered. Also includes skin fixes, and the ability to obfuscate email addresses. See the changelog for details.

Forrest 0.5 released (September 13, 2003)

Much faster, new flexible tab and menu system, numerous skin improvements, DocBook support, Wiki support, improved PDF output, eased maintenance of sitemaps, and more. See the changelog for details.

Xerces-J 2.5.0 released (July 31, 2003)

The Apache Xerces2 Java Parser team is very happy to announce that version 2.5.0 of Xerces2 Java Parser is now available.

This release provides a partial partial implementation of the XML Inclusions (XInclude) W3C Candidate Recommendation and also brings Xerces-J into compliance with the most recent work of the W3C DOM working group on DOM level 3 Core and Load/Save.

FOP 0.20.5 released (July 18, 2003)

New top-level project: Cocoon

Cocoon has become the status of a top-level project, you will find the new website here: http://cocoon.apache.org.

Web Services project launched (February 19, 2003)

The Axis, SOAP, XML-RPC subprojects have been split off into a newly formed Web Services project, http://ws.apache.org.

Forrest 0.4 released (February 12, 2003)

Forrest 0.4 fixes various cross-browser issues, the default skins are improved, menus generated with site.xml are much more friendly. Backwards-compatibility with previous releases has been maintained. See release notes.

Forrest 0.3 released (January 31, 2003)

Forrest 0.3 incorporates two months of improvements and bugfixes since 0.2. Most of the changes are incremental, and backwards-compatibility with 0.2 has been maintained. See release notes.

Cocoon 2.0.4 released (December 06, 2002)

Forrest 0.2.1 released (November 23, 2002)

Forrest 0.2.1 contains a handful of bugfixes since 0.2 as detailed in the release notes. JDK 1.3 and Win95/98 users especially may wish to upgrade. Forrest 0.2.1 may be obtained from the Apache Project Mirrors.

Xerces 2.0.0 (beta) is released

The beta release for Xerces2 marks the first step in producing the next generation of Xerces XML parser technology. Xerces2 beta is available from the download pages.

xml-commons subproject is formed! (Summer-01)

A new subproject focusing on sharing common XML code and interfaces, etc. was formed recently. For details, look in the xml-commons repository, in the general@xml.apache.org mailing list, or the commons-dev@xml.apache.org mailing list.

Xalan-J was nominated for an award! (Summer-01)
